  • UNBELIEVABLE: popularly known Nigeria musician arrested for fraud

  • It has been reported that a certain US-based woman identified as Shawn Rene has accused Nigerian pop star, Runtown and his brother of fraud.
According to her, ‘I wrote him two checks in two companies name, $32,000 and $107,000, after he got the checks and cashed he started saying stories, later on he started saying they would pay after runtown’s show in Canada, I and my fiancée couldn’t have it because we never invested in anyone’s music, I even had to come down to Kenya just to be certain my fiancée wasn’t involved, and even arrested the Alex, and after investigations and all we found out it was jack, his brother and wife trying to play a fast one on us, his wife claimed they had the money returned to me, which I also have the record of’.

She went on to say, ‘I and my fiancée has used over $18,000 for both legal fees tickets and hotel bills already, he had to even travel to Nigeria to make a report also. These past months I have been dealing with cancer and chemo and catching flights from Texas to New York regularly just as result of my fiancée trusting his fellow countryman so much. I gave these people $107,000 and they only paid $150000 to my fiancée. Above was when Jack got the check, and also a 3-way call with him Alex and my fiancée’.

When Runtown’s management was contacted, they claimed it’s a blackmail attempt and the Nigerian security agencies have been notified.
‘Its all lies, We have contacted the Nigerian security agencies, DSS and EFCC who are all on the matter at the moment. Runtown has never and will never defraud anyone’.

It would be recalled that EricMany Entertainment owner and Dilly motors boss, Prince Okwudili Umenyiora, denied reports that he was arrested by the police for attempted murder.
According to source, Okwudili was arrested at a gym by policemen from Alagbon, Lagos state.

Dilly’s purported arrest was because he allegedly pulled a gun on singer Runtown and threatened to kill him.
When asked if he was truly in police custody, he laughed and said “It is not true”.
In a previous interview with Pulse, Runtown had accused his former label boss of bullying, mental torture and rip off.
“…Before EricMany I already did the ‘Gallardo’ video on my own, I paid N4.5 million for the video, exclusive of the money I used to push the song. You all know much it takes to push a song in Africa. I also did ‘Successful’, on my own.

“The first video we did together was ‘Domot’, I noticed that when money started coming in from shows, I was having a lot bookings, and I noticed that the label started taking all the money. The contract stated that I get my percentage which is 35%, until when we recoup like half of what we invest in the career, then we will renegotiate the contract. I accepted and said let’s go ahead…”, Runtown partly said in the interview.

I think we have had enough of these accusations against our Nigerian Celebrities!!
