  • City plant buy-back hurdle on Iheanacho
  • Manchester City are willing to sell striker Kelechi
Iheanacho, but the are bent on inserting a buy-
back clause in the contract of the player, if he
agrees terms with either Leicester or West Ham
    who are chasing his signature.
It was reported that coach Pep Guardiola has
not totally given up on Iheanacho who has
proved himself to be a prolific striker still
developing and as such, City may want him
    back in the future.
He is valued at around £25 million and his buy-
back clause will be worth at least another £10
million on top of that sum to the club that signs
    him.
The buy-back clause is viewed by clubs as a
way of City protecting themselves against losing
a top promising young players who fall out of
favour with the manager of the day. It makes
negotiations over a transfer more complex with
the buying club having to ensure that they are
covered at both ends of the deal.
